When your dog is recovering from a carpal injury, ligament damage, or orthopaedic surgery, proper joint stabilisation is one of the most important factors in a successful recovery. The KRUUSE Rehab Carpal Joint Protector is a vet-grade support wrap specifically engineered to protect and stabilise the carpus (wrist) joint throughout the healing process and beyond.

Constructed from a premium blend of 80% neoprene, 11% nylon, and 9% polyester, the wrap delivers firm yet comfortable compression around the joint. The neoprene construction makes it fully waterproof, so the joint stays warm and protected during outdoor walks — even in the wet British weather that can aggravate inflammation and slow recovery.

This Size S wrap is well suited to smaller to medium breeds including Collies, Border Collies, Beagles, and Springer Spaniels. It is designed for use during rehabilitation from acute injuries, as part of a post-surgical recovery plan, and as an ongoing aid for dogs managing chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis or OCD.

As a product from KRUUSE — one of Europe's most trusted names in veterinary rehabilitation equipment — you can have confidence that this wrap meets the standards expected in professional clinical settings. It is the same quality relied upon by veterinary physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists across the UK.

1. Ensure your dog's leg is clean and dry before fitting the wrap. 2. Position the wrap over the carpus (wrist) joint, ensuring it sits snugly from just below the elbow down toward the paw. 3. Secure the fastenings to achieve firm but comfortable compression — you should be able to slide two fingers underneath the wrap. 4. Monitor your dog during initial use to ensure they are comfortable and moving naturally. 5. Remove the wrap during rest periods unless directed otherwise by your vet. 6. Check the skin beneath the wrap regularly for any signs of rubbing, redness, or irritation. 7. Hand wash in cool water with mild soap and allow to air dry. Do not tumble dry or expose to direct heat.

For animal use only. Always consult your veterinarian or veterinary physiotherapist before use, particularly following surgery or in cases of acute injury. Do not apply over open wounds or broken skin. Remove the wrap if your dog shows signs of discomfort, increased swelling, or restricted circulation such as cold or pale skin below the wrap. Never leave the wrap on an unsupervised dog for prolonged periods without veterinary guidance. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Keep out of reach of children.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Size S is typically suited to smaller to medium breeds such as Collies, Beagles, and Springer Spaniels. You should measure the circumference of your dog's carpus (wrist) joint and the length from just below the elbow to the paw. Always refer to the KRUUSE sizing guide included with the product or available on our product page. If your dog sits between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up for comfort.

Yes. The wrap is made from 80% neoprene, which is fully waterproof and helps keep the joint warm and dry even in typical wet UK conditions. This is particularly important during recovery, as a cold or damp joint can slow healing and increase discomfort. After walks in rain or mud, simply rinse the wrap and allow it to air dry before the next use.

The KRUUSE Rehab Carpal Joint Protector is designed for both post-surgical recovery and the ongoing management of chronic conditions. It is commonly used following orthopaedic surgery, ligament repair, and procedures related to OCD (osteochondrosis dissecans), as well as for long-term support of dogs living with osteoarthritis or joint instability. Always consult your vet before use, especially in the immediate post-operative period.

Wear time will depend on your dog's specific condition and your vet or veterinary physiotherapist's guidance. For most rehabilitation cases, the wrap is worn during activity and periods of movement, then removed during rest. It is important to check the skin underneath regularly for any signs of rubbing, irritation, or swelling. Never leave the wrap on unsupervised for extended periods without veterinary advice.
