The KRUUSE Physio Tactile Peanut Balance Ball is a professional-grade rehabilitation and fitness tool designed specifically for canine use. At 60 cm, it is ideal for medium to large breed dogs and is trusted by veterinary physiotherapists, canine rehabilitation specialists, and committed owners across the UK.

The distinctive peanut shape sets this ball apart from standard exercise balls. By limiting unpredictable lateral rolling, it gives dogs — and their handlers — greater control during exercises, making it suitable for dogs at all stages of rehabilitation or fitness training. The shape naturally encourages correct weight-bearing posture and engages the core, hindquarters, and stabilising muscles with every session.

Covering the entire surface of the ball are neuro sensory tactile buds. These raised nodules provide continuous proprioceptive stimulation wherever the dog makes contact, sending important sensory signals through the paws, limbs, and body. This is particularly valuable for dogs recovering from orthopaedic surgery, cruciate ligament repair, hip or elbow dysplasia management, or neurological conditions affecting coordination and gait.

For healthy dogs, the Physio Tactile Peanut is equally effective as a core strengthening and body awareness tool, helping to build muscle, improve balance, and prevent future injury. It is built to withstand regular professional use and is made from durable, anti-burst material for safety.

Before first use, inflate the ball using a standard ball pump to the desired firmness. For rehabilitation, a slightly softer inflation increases proprioceptive challenge. Place the ball on a non-slip surface and introduce your dog gradually, allowing them to sniff and investigate before asking them to interact with it. Begin with simple weight-bearing exercises such as placing front paws on the ball, then progress to four-paw standing, rocking, and shifting weight as directed by your vet or canine physiotherapist. Always supervise your dog during use. Sessions should be kept short — typically 5 to 10 minutes — especially in early rehabilitation. Do not leave the ball inflated and unattended with your dog.

Always use under direct supervision. Do not use with dogs that have open wounds, unhealed surgical sites, or without veterinary clearance following injury or surgery. Ensure the exercise surface is non-slip to prevent accidents. Inspect the ball before each use for signs of damage, puncture, or excessive wear — do not use a damaged ball. Keep away from sharp objects. Store deflated or partially inflated in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep out of reach of children and pets when not in use.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

The 60 cm peanut ball is best suited to medium to large breeds. The peanut shape provides natural lateral stability, making it easier for dogs of varying sizes to engage safely. For smaller breeds, a smaller size may be more appropriate. If you are unsure, consult your veterinary physiotherapist before use.

Post-surgical use should always be guided by your vet or a qualified canine physiotherapist. This ball is designed to support structured rehabilitation programmes and is not intended for unsupervised use in the early recovery phase. Always get veterinary clearance before introducing any balance or proprioception work after surgery.

Inflate the ball using a standard ball pump until it is firm but still has a slight give when pressed. For rehabilitation purposes, a slightly softer inflation can increase the challenge to balance and proprioception. Avoid over-inflating as this reduces the tactile surface engagement and may increase injury risk. A pump is not included.

Unlike a standard round exercise ball, the KRUUSE Physio Tactile Peanut has two key advantages: the peanut shape which limits unwanted rolling and provides greater directional stability, and the neuro sensory tactile buds covering the entire surface. These buds actively stimulate the dog's nervous system with every contact, enhancing proprioceptive feedback and body awareness far beyond what a smooth ball can offer.
