Understanding kidney disease
Kidney disease can come on suddenly (acute) or develop slowly over months and years (chronic). Chronic kidney disease is common in senior dogs, where kidney function gradually declines. It can’t usually be reversed, but it can often be managed well for a long time with the right care.
