Everything you need to know

From what's inside to how it arrives — open any section below for the full picture on Cloud Inflatable Recovery Collar for Dogs.

The KONG Cloud Inflatable Collar is a soft, cushioned alternative to the traditional rigid plastic cone, designed to keep your dog comfortable and calm throughout their recovery. Its inflatable donut shape sits gently around the neck, creating a barrier that prevents licking, biting, and scratching at wounds, stitches, hot spots, or irritated skin — without blocking your dog's peripheral vision or causing the distress often associated with standard e-collars.

Unlike hard plastic cones that can bang against doorframes, food bowls, and furniture, the Cloud Collar moulds softly around your dog's neck, allowing them to eat, drink, and sleep with minimal disruption to their daily routine. Your dog can even rest their head flat on the floor — something that's simply not possible with a traditional cone.

The collar is secured through your dog's existing collar for added stability, and can be quickly deflated for easy storage when not in use. Made from durable, easy-to-wipe materials, it's practical for owners as well as kind to pets. Whether your dog is recovering from surgery, a skin condition, or a minor wound, the KONG Cloud Collar helps make the healing process as stress-free as possible for both of you.

N/A

1. Inflate the collar by blowing into the valve until it feels firm but comfortable — similar to a fully inflated swimming armband. 2. Thread your dog's existing flat collar through the loops on the Cloud Collar to secure it in place. 3. Fasten your dog's collar as normal to hold the Cloud Collar snugly against the neck. 4. Check that your dog cannot reach any wound or surgical site by gently observing their range of movement. 5. Inspect the inflation level daily and top up via the valve if needed. 6. To remove, simply deflate via the valve and unthread from your dog's collar. Wipe clean with a damp cloth as required.

Always supervise your dog during the initial fitting to ensure the collar is secure and your dog cannot access any wound or surgical site. Check the inflation level daily — a partially deflated collar may not provide adequate protection. Do not leave a severely distressed dog unattended in the collar. If your dog shows signs of discomfort, skin irritation, or is consistently able to reach their wound, consult your vet for advice. Deflate fully before storing. Store in a cool, dry place away from sharp objects that could puncture the collar. Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently asked questions

The KONG Cloud Collar comes in multiple sizes to suit a wide range of breeds, from small dogs like Chihuahuas to larger breeds like Labradors. Always measure your dog's neck circumference and refer to the KONG sizing guide before purchasing to ensure a proper, comfortable fit.

Yes — that's one of the biggest advantages of the Cloud Collar over a traditional plastic cone. Its soft, donut-shaped design allows your dog to lower their head to their food bowl, drink water freely, and rest comfortably with their head down. Most dogs adapt to it very quickly.

The collar should feel firm but not rock-hard when inflated — similar to a fully inflated swimming armband. It needs to be inflated enough to prevent your dog from turning and reaching any wound or surgical site. Check the inflation before each use and top up if needed via the valve.

The Cloud Collar is designed for extended wear, including overnight use. However, it is always advisable to check on your dog regularly, especially during the early stages of recovery. If your dog is determined to reach a wound, consult your vet to confirm the collar size and fit are appropriate.
