Balto® Neck – Rigid Neck Brace

A rigid neck brace that holds the cervical spine steady — for disc herniation, neck injury and neurological conditions of the upper spine.

Ask your vet which orientation to use — supporting from below and limiting flexion down the spine restrict different movements, and which one your dog needs depends on where the problem is.

• Fit the collar where your dog's normal collar sits.
• Position the extended side either below the neck, or down the spine, as directed.
• Snug, not tight. Two fingers should slide under it comfortably.
• Check your dog can still eat and drink in it before leaving them.
• Attach the lead to a harness rather than the brace — never to the brace itself.
• Take it off daily to check the skin underneath.

Neck and spinal problems are serious. Sudden neck pain, a head held low and rigid, reluctance to look up, or any weakness or wobbliness in the legs needs prompt veterinary attention — not a brace ordered online. Use this because your vet has recommended support.

• Never attach a lead to the brace. Use a harness.
• Follow your vet's guidance on wearing time and on how much exercise is appropriate.
• Check the skin under the collar every day.
• Stop and call your vet if your dog's comfort or coordination changes suddenly.
• For dogs under two years old, use in balanced intervals.

Hand wash in cool water with mild soap and air dry away from direct heat. Don't tumble dry, and don't put it on a radiator — heat distorts the shaping and the velcro.
