• Fit the brace around the hind end with your dog standing if they can manage it.
• Position the two padding discs directly over the hip joints — use them, they're where most of the benefit comes from.
• Adjust the straps so the brace sits level and doesn't slide back towards the tail.
• Set the handle height so you can hold it standing upright, not stooped.
• Take the handles off when your dog is resting, so the brace can stay on comfortably.
• Support rather than carry — let your dog use whatever strength they have.
• Check the skin under the straps and discs daily.

A brace manages pain and supports the joint. It doesn't change the shape of a dysplastic hip, so keep your vet involved — including on whether surgery or medication should be part of the plan.

Hand wash in cool water with mild soap and air dry away from direct heat. Don't tumble dry, and don't put it on a radiator — heat distorts the shaping and the velcro.
